I don't think so - motorcycle insurance is different from a private car (you know - 4-wheels good, 2-wheels bad), so you wont be able to use your motorcycle bonus.

Bike – a 250 is not the best answer after DAS as you will fast outgrow it – go for a 600 or 650 and NOT a lie on it sports bike yet

it could be your age ( are you a old timer), with a posh postcode. i had quote this morning for a yamaha diversion 900cc value is £2000 and quote was £198.00. ( thats with a shitty birmingham area postcode) but ive got 10 years riding experience. i am 28.

The easiest option is to take your test a.s.a.p. on your 125 and then you can ride anything up to 33bhp straight away.
You won't need to retest on a bigger bike after the 2 years are up.
Thats the way I'm doing it as 33bhp covers quite a few interesting rides and as you've pointed out – those arsebanditbastard insurance companies should go easier on us!! LOL.

Personally, I think the sportster is a primitive bike. For six grand you could do a lot better.
