How much should I expect to pay for motorcycle insurance on a cheap bike in MA? (I'm in cambridge.) I know it depends on a variety of factors, and I could call an agent and get a quote, but I'm just looking for a rough estimate.

Check Progressive or Geico Ins companies. They will give you a quote on-line.
1) Go to http://www.2insure4less.com
2) Fill out an insurance request form
3) Get up to 5 rates from different companies
You will find that progressive or geico do not sell in Mass. Remember we are not a competitive state for ins, cars or bikes-that said my honda 750 shadow ace cost about 450 for the full year loaded. I will place the ins to the minumum level around Nov to April. It will end up about 2 or 250…also it depends on engine size and type-grater than 650 more than less than–sport bike more than cruiser….
It depends largely on the motorcycle you are talking about (and it’s engine size). For liability insurance only on my 2000 KLR650 I only pay like $200 a year through Progressive in Illinois.
You can find more info on motorcycle insurance at this site:http://www.motorcyclegiftshop.com/motorc…
go for it, just take it slow to start with. where are you from and how tall are you?
Remember Masoud Alimohammadi, the Iranian nuclear physics professor who was killed by an exploding motorcycle last month? At first, it was assumed that because he was a supporter of the Green revolution and Mir Hossein Mousavi, he was killed by the Ahmadinejad regime. Now, it turns out that he was an important cog in Iran’s nuclear program and that someone else may have wanted him dead.
“Nathan Myhrvol demonstrated at TED a laser, built from parts scrounged from eBay, capable of shooting down not one but 50 to 100 mosquitos a second. The system is ’so precise that it can specify the species, and even the gender, of the mosquito being targeted.’ Currently, for the sake of efficiency, it leaves the males alone because only females are bloodsuckers. Best of all the system could cost as little as $50.”
Filed under: EV/Plug-in, On Two Wheels Mission Motors Mission One – Click above for high-res image gallery Proving once again how difficult it is to bring an entirely new product to market – especially one as difficult to master as an electric motorcycle – is California-based Mission Motors, which just recently admitted that its first product, the Mission One, will be delayed until the second quarter of 2011. The company had originally planned to have its electric motorcycle ready by the end of 2010. Says interim-CEO Jit Bhattacharya: [Mission Motors'] target originally to deliver the Mission One was to deliver it by the end of this year [2010]. But when we first set out on that endeavor, we never saw 2009 coming. The recession created new hurdles for every company out there big and small, created new challenges for us, and while we’re getting past that, and we’ve continued the development process, it did affect the development schedule. So we’re now looking to deliver the first…
I feel for you. The same thing happened to me. Although this state mandates that different divisions of the same company handle the claim to prevent any conflict of interest, both of us were equally screwed by the company. Be sure to use a different legal firm and check to see what their record is against that particular company. Some lawyers are not as good as their flashy ads would lead you to believe.
It ended up not being a good neighbor thing at all for me.
“I remain suspicious, however, of anyone who argues that online social networks, like Facebook, will revolutionize human interactions. Whenever I encounter some utopian celebration of Facebook, I always go back and read some Jane Goodall, or Robert Sapolsky, and remind myself that our social lives haven’t changed that much since we were hairy apes patrolling the African forest. In fact, the most obvious parallel for just about every primate troop remains high school. It’s not that Facebook doesn’t matter – it’s just that our social lives are stubborn things, and tend to revolve around the same constants regardless of the technology. …
After analyzing thousands of photos, the scientists found that, on average, each student had 6.6 close friends in their online network. In other words, nothing has really changed; even the most fervent Facebook users still maintain only a limited circle of intimates.
“On Facebook, you’ve got a few close friends and lots of people you barely know,” Fowler says. “Because the cost of information transmission is so low”–that is, the site makes it easy to communicate–”we end up staying in touch with more acquaintances. But that doesn’t mean we have more friends.”
The point is that even if Facebook transforms our “online friends” into a vast, nameless cloud, we still count on our real life social circle for support.”
Tim Cook, Apple’s chief operating officer, spoke at the Goldman Sachs annual tech conference in San Francisco Tuesday afternoon, and while he didn’t break much in the way of news, he had some interesting things to say about Apple TV, the iPad as a rival to the netbook and Apple as a platform provider. His thoughts on each of these topics and a few others, after the jump.

It would cost quite a bit. However if it is paid by private entrepreneurs rather than thru tax monies the burden on the economy for its construction will be negligable.
Going on an elephant ride up the hill for 30mins cost about Baht 800-1000 (Baht1000 = US$30), a day trip to Phang Nga Bay cost Baht 2800 onwards, an evening show at Fantasea cost Baht 1300 or a Simon Cabaret show cost Baht 800.
Was in Phuket last week so I guess the prices are pretty accurate. Do be very watchful of the girls in Patong strip – particularly Bangla Boulevard. If you do want to explore the nightspots, stay to bigger and more established pubs. DO NOT follow the girls if they offer to bring you to their pub. They will rip you off from your drinks ordered and their snatch your money for their tips. You can't argue as they are kind of 'protected' by the bars they work for.
Tuk-Tuk is a popular public transport using a mini van that can take up to 8 persons. Bargain hard for the charges before you hop on.
Do try their spa treatment. Its cheap and relaxing. Again, stay to bigger establishments and ask for the prices before you go in.
Lastly, if you have a group of 8-10 persons, I would highly recommend that you stay in one of those exclusive villas that are privately owned by foreigners. They are well managed and offers better value – 5-bedrooms with private baths, all meals included, 2 in-house maids, private swimming pool, game room equipped with Playstation 2 and a pool table and best of all a view to kill! As it is low season now, price starts from US$790 per night for the entire villa without 3 meals included, free flow of soft drinks and bottled water and a case of beer.
