I'm 16 and I'm wanting to get a moped. Does the law require that you carry insurance on mopeds? Thanks.
I forgot to mention I live in Indiana - I don't know if that makes a difference.

You would be required to have insurance on the moped. It would be motorcycle insurance.

She should not be insured for it because she's not driving it. She's probably not even licensed for it.
Get your own insurance. Go Select Motorcycle/ATV, and go through the setup they have. You can do it just to get rates or to buy insurance.
They insure all mopeds.
BTW, mopeds with engines 50cc or less do not require a driver's license or even a license plate in most states.
ball park about £225…but depends on your post code as well[they use it to find out how many bikes have been stolen in your postcode/area…the more that are nicked the higher the insurance.
