Let's see, in the last 45 minutes, you're a noob and have no idea how to buy a used bike, you want to know what a speed triple is worth, you have a 50 cc chopper and need insurance in the u.k., your lights don't work properly on your CB 750, and trouble with your 99 ninja 250 warming up.

way too much time on your hands today.

If you are charged with a violation, it will be up to the judge as to who is at fault, on principle, always plead not guilty to such, as then you get to plead your case, and perhaps reduce your liability. You can question the competency of the witnesses to assess your speed. Hopefully, someone measured to distance your bike slid and recorded it, that will provide a base line to work out how fast you were going, knowing the friction and the mass of the bike, (or ditto youself). I'm not agreeing with you, I'm providing tools to test the evidence. You may well have been speeding, and if so, you will have to wear the consequences. You may have to demand the police charge you to get your day in court, and you may lose, because the evidence to clear you isn't available, because it wasn't collected which gives room for dismissal, or the facts don't support your claim. Your rapid acceleration may have been legal, but didn't leave the driver time to see you and not pull out, though he should have been indicating, and if so you should have been more carefull. You ride a bike. You know they can't/don't/won't see you, and you ignore basic self preservation tactics. Perhaps you should be grateful to be alive and unharmed. BTW. If your friends 'saw it all', why aren't they witnesses????? Some friends! Police do not have a right to pick and chose witnesses, they have to record statements from all of them. Methinks there's more to this.......

it depends entirely on the insurer. a good broker may be able to get you a better no claims bonus allowance but as its not a car they can refuse. i got a 2 year introductory bonus for driving a company vehicle for 4 years before i got my own car.
ask .. u have nothing to lose but in cases like this a good local broker you can chat to may be best bet rather than online.
