I guess I should have provided more info... In no way are we trying to scam anyone. He finally finished repairs (lower end and chain) on Wed. and yes he rode it two days w/o ins. I made the mistake of not getting it sooner...and all we wanted was to get the temp. ID card so we could get the bike out of impound before the rate got out of hand.

what about making a short video clip of you and all hubbies friends saying what a great guy he is and what they like most about him. Then making a dvd or posting it online for him? (Btw, I've found viddler.com to be better than youtube for quality.) Or maybe a cd recording of same? I know these are no/low cost ones…what about getting him a miniature version of the bike he wants and writing him a nice letter saying that it's on raincheck? That he'll definitely get it…
Or check out leasing it out long term. That way you don't put yourself out a big chunk of cash and you can return it when you need to.
